Hi there
I get the following error when trying to scan a Windows 2008, Standard Edition, R2, 64-bit server.
Can\'t write NEWTScannerSvc to \\\\servername\\ADMIN$\\SysWOW64 (Error: 5 Access is denied.)
Please assist
-
Hi there Olivier. Are you able to get to that server\'s ADMIN$ share from the PC you\'re scanning from using Windows Explorer/IE itself? As in \"\\\\ServerName\\ADMIN$\"? Also, can you get to the C$ share, which would be \"\\\\ServerName\\C$\"? And can you copy files to either share?
-
Hi. Yes I am. I can access both shares and am able to copy files there.
-
That\'s interesting. Can you copy files to \\\\servername\\ADMIN$\\SysWOW64 as well? If so, can you check to see if there are credentials entered in NEWT for that server? Simply right-click on the server in the Primary tab and choose Credentials. If there are credentials, please try removing them and scanning again.
-
Hi.
I can copy a file to the sysWOW64 folder using the account specified with local admin rights on the server. In credential manager there are credentials for the server. Have also tried removing them and same thing. I have also deleted the server from NEWT and added it in again still with no luck
-
And you\'ve tried using those same exact local admin rights (credentials) in NEWT that you used to copy to the SysWOW64?
-
That is correct.
-
That is very strange. If you\'re using the same credentials in NEWT to scan that server and you\'re able to copy files to it from Windows using those same credentials, it should work.
We will contact you through email about this and have you send us a few files so we can see better what\'s happening.
Thank you for your patience.

Glad to hear via email this problem \"solved itself\"! Thank you for writing us.

What was the resolution to this error? I am having the same issue with a few of my PC?
-
Hi, are you having this exact problem where it says "Error 5" or just the "Error 32" from another thread?
