Title: Misidentifying certain PCs
Post by: sdravk on March 14, 2008, 05:23:54 PM
We are running Newt Pro 2.5 build 50 on a Windows 2003 server environment. We have a problem with Newt Pro misidentifying some PCs - the worst is the following:

Newt Pro says the PC is a 2.67ghz Pentium 4 but the machine is actually an 800mhz Pentium 3.

This happened on multiple scans, different PCs (but the same model).

Not sure what is causing this problem. Thank you

We apologize for the trouble, but that certainly shouldn\'t be happening.  Could you try the latest build 62 (available on our front page), rescan those machines giving you the wrong CPU and let us know if it\'s doing the same thing?

And are you starting a completely new scan from scratch, or loading older scans from previous versions of Newt and scanning those?  Our CPU detection should be the most accurate in the industry.

If you continue having the same problem, let us know here or email support directly and we\'ll get to the bottom of it with you.
