Very sorry for the delay.

While we could possibly add security checks for this & other threats, we're focusing our resources on other types of information about remote devices, such as OS, device types, etc. There are already a number of products focusing on security & do it very well.

We added the EternalBlue/NotPetya security check because it was very widespread at the time & related to the Windows file sharing protocol (SMB), which we were already intimate with.

Slitheris Network Discovery - Feature Requests / “Zerologon” (CVE-2020-1472)

Would it be possible to get visibility of this threat using your tool?

Hi!  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  We will fix this issue in our next version release by not allowing multicast address ranges like these.  We're also working to greatly improve the automatic detection of IP ranges available to your local PC, as well as other great features.

Hi,

I add my local network range 192.168.1.0/24

I hit scan selected IP range.

And in the middle of the scan, before completing the local range (192.168) the software begins scanning a multicast network 224.0.0.x. It then finds 90+ devices that I have no idea which they are.

How can I stop this and make Slitheris Network Discovery only scan my local area network?

Slitheris Network Discovery - Support & General Discussion / Re: IP Range update

Oh that sounds like a great addition. I'd love to help test this, just let me know how I can help.

Thank you. This means a lot to us.

You'll be happy to know we're also working on a much better ping sweep feature, which should be a lot more efficient, faster, and allow us to more easily add features like sub-Class IP ranges, as well as ability to block ping/scans by IP or MAC, in order to prevent future IDS alerts.

Would you be interested in playing with the new ping sweep feature when it's available?

Slitheris Network Discovery - Support & General Discussion / IP Range update
« Last post by indiez on October 28, 2019, 02:31:06 PM »
Just wanted to throw some praise out for the IP range update. Thank you so much for this, gonna make my life a bit easier. Still would love to scan specific ranges below class Cs. Sometimes I just wanna scan a few hosts in the middle of the range as there's sometimes servers at the beginning or end of the range that have IDS go crazy when they get port scanned, and then I get a call from cyber sec :(

Anyways, still super happy about this update thanks guys!

Hi there.  Unfortunately due to SMBv1 being deprecated, there may be a number of systems Slitheris won't be able to pull the Edition without full admin access.  However, it shouldn't be telling you the wrong Edition.  Is that what it's doing or is it just not showing Edition for a lot of Win10 machines?

The Windows version number, as 10.0.17763.615, does require admin access and we don't yet have this in Slitheris.  However, we do have another app called NEWT Pro that can show the full Edition and Version #, as long as you have access to the remote PC's ADMIN$ share.  At some point we plan to combine both software into one single app, but for right now they're separate.

I hope that helps!

All of our systems are Win 10 Pro.
However a Slitheris scan only shows a few as PRO.

Also would it be possible to have a column for Win Version number?
The build is nice but the Ver is more usable.

NEWT Pro Network Inventory - Support / Re: Service Tag for monitors
« Last post by Komodo Support on August 13, 2019, 10:54:23 PM »
No problem. Typically a large manufacturer like Dell will have Windows utilities that allow you to see the service tag of a monitor through software, if that's possible. Just as they do for the PC's service tag, either using the BIOS or software like ours.

I performed a quick search for such software from Dell, but couldn't find anything. As far as we know, the only unique value that can be pulled from monitors through software is the serial number. It's possible Dell could add this to monitors, but we haven't seen it yet.
