Hey there, i'm from Brazil.

I'm using NEWT Professional v.25 build 326.

There is a host at my LAN (Local Area Network) that doesn't show hardware and software info (10.0.0.23)

I disable the firewall but still doesn't showing some information.

Code: [Select]
Connection error occurred (Error 53: O caminho da rede n?o foi encontrado.) -> Hint: Try visiting "\\10.0.0.23" from Windows Explorer or IE. -> Hint: Windows Firewall may be turned on.  Disabling it or adding the 'File and Printer Sharing' exception may allow scanning.

Can anynone help me, please ?

Hi Simon!  Yes, you sure can do that, although we want to make it a lot easier in the future.

If you visit the Discovery panel, you should see a File menu with commands to import and export IP ranges.  Just export your current ranges and open that CSV in a Notepad (not Excel) and you'll be able to see how the format looks.  Just follow the same format and you should be able to import an unlimited number of IP ranges of any size.

This is what it should look like on your export.  The "True" bit says that the IP range is enabled.  You can use False if you want it disabled by default.  There are two Import options, either to Import the file and replace everything, or you can Append IP ranges during Import.  Any IP ranges that overlap or duplicates will most likely be automatically disabled and show a note explaining why it was disabled.  You can always keep that initial exported list as a backup in case something goes wrong or you can save multiple lists and Import them as needed.

True,192.168.119.1,192.168.119.255,"(Double-click here to edit)"
True,192.168.1.1,192.168.1.255,"(Double-click here to edit)"
True,10.10.0.1,101.110.255.255,"(Double-click here to edit)"

We hope that helps!

Ah silly of me ... not sure how I didn't see "File" in top left corner of discover screen.
Thanks for you info mate :)

NEWT Pro Network Inventory - General Discussion / Discover option to import IP ranges
« Last post by Simon771 on October 17, 2017, 05:56:31 AM »
Hello,

We bought NEWT PRO for 525 nodes not long ago, and I would like to ask if there is any way to import IP ranges in discover panel. Right now I have to write 30 subnets every time I want to scan.
For example we are scanning IP ranges like this:

172.16.10.1 to 172.16.10.255
172.17.5.1 to 172.17.5.255
and 28 other IP ranges.

Is there any way to write those IP ranges in some .txt file and just import it every time?

NEWT Pro Network Inventory - Support / Re: UN-able to Scan

Hi, error 1061 means that the "service cannot accept control messages at this time".   Quoting Microsoft's website, that "There is a temporary mismatch between the requested control and the state of the service to be controlled. The service may be in a state of start-pending, stop-pending, or stopped."

Their solution says to wait a few minutes and try again, but I'm assuming you've done that before posting on our forums.

This issue can be caused by some anti-virus software.  May I ask which one you're using?

You're fine.  It's placement and label wasn't meant to be obvious.  Hopefully we can release it as soon, and we'll make sure to make that option clear in the final release.

Thanks,

Was wondering what that 'button' was for.. :)
Should have paid closer attention.

Thank you!

The column should be there, but if not, try clicking "Default Columns" under the blue dashboard.
And actually testing for MS17-010 for that column has been disabled in the pre-release due to an issue a fellow user had with it alerting their IDS software.  But you can re-enable it using the "SMBv1" button.  It will not yet save the setting however.

Even when this option is disabled, the SMB Security column should still be visible, but it will then only show SMBv1/v2 status.
