Microsoft OneCare
« on: September 06, 2007, 09:00:29 AM »
I am thinking about installing Microsoft OneCare on our pc\'s. The first impression is very good, but, the firewall protects so good, that i have to disable it to scan  machine... which portnumbers do I need to exclude to make the computers scannable for Newt? (2 or 3 I\'m using/testing both versions)

Thnx.

Hello Erwin.  For scanning through Windows firewall, you should only need to turn on the \"File and Printer Sharing\" and \"Remote Administration\" exceptions.  Hopefully Microsoft OneCare uses the same exceptions as XP and Vista.  If you don\'t see these listed, please let us know.

Now v2 may have additional issues with WMI even after you change this.  Version 2.5 doesn\'t have this issue.
