COMCTL32.OCX being used
« on: January 27, 2010, 11:56:33 AM »
Hi there,
Trying to install the new 148 and I keep getting the error;
C:\\windows\\system32\\comctl32.ocx
An error occurred while trying to replace existing file:
DeleteFile failed; code 32
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
Abort     Retry     Ignore
i\'ve tryed retry a bunch of times so I hit ignore and then I get the same error on MSWINSCK.OCX
After I click ignore to that message the install seems to complete and NEWT launches with the new verison.

I\'m running Windows XP Pro SP3.

Hello!  This is probably due to another piece of software using those files during the install.  We would recommend you reboot and try to install the latest version again, which is also always available from our website.  You may be able to use the software ok without reinstalling, but new versions of these files were released by Microsoft last year and have deemed them an important security upgrade.  By now, you\'d think Windows Update would have updated these already.
