Scanning routers.

I am working with several clients that are good candidates for your product but I have some questions. When scanning a router can the scan read the routers configuration? I see it responds to devices that have a SNMP reply. But can I use the SNMP root user to login and obtain that configuration info?

Hi and thank you for your interested in our product!

NEWT cannot yet detect router configuration, but this may be something possible in the future.  I do know we're working on getting more information from SNMP-based switches and printers, but we haven't been able to look into routers quite yet.

There are SNMP-based products out there that can probably do what you're wanting, but they concentrate on SNMP and don't provide other types of scanning, such as Windows PCs, etc.
