Logical CPUs
« on: November 27, 2012, 02:55:46 PM »
I have a computer with a Six Core processor with Hyper-threading (total of 12 threads) the Logical CPUs displays 8. Is there a limit to how many Logical CPUs displayed per phys cpu?

The processor is Intel Xeon CPU E5-2440 2.40GHz

PS I just looked at a different processor and I am missing threads on that one as well.

Intel Xeon CPU X5687 @ 3.60GHz

Hello Mike and thank you very much for bringing this to our attention.  This definitely sounds like a bug, as NEWT is suppose to be reporting the number of CPUs that Windows sees.  It appears there has been a fixed limit in our code, but we'll get this fixed for you ASAP and get you an update to try.  We'll then make sure that fix is included for everyone else in the next release.

Does "Physical CPUs"  and "CPU Core Type" seem correct?

Yes the CPUs (Physical) and CPU Core Type appear to be correct.

Great.  We have the Logical CPU count fixed here internally and it should now be unlimited.  It will definitely be in the next release build.
