For years many of us have used one of the 3 top IP scanners.  It’s a simple choice for many in managed services because there are so few good commercial alternatives.  But have you ever wished you could detect more information to better identify network devices by just clicking a Scan button without needing to worry about credentials?  Well, so did we.  And after months of research into a possible solution, we developed what we now call Slitheris Network Discovery, our first premium IP scanner.

To demonstrate how well Slitheris performs, we scanned a test lab network with the 3 most popular Windows IP scanners in the world and compared their results to Slitheris.  Freeware applications were mainly chosen due to their extremely high popularity, as no comparable commercial network scanners for Windows could be found for comparison.

For this comparison, devices and PCs were turned on at random. No software was given an advantage over another and no credentials were used.
